Re-designing a digital platform to expand understanding around open data

The Open Data Institute (ODI) is a non-profit company committed to advancing trust in data across the spectrum - from closed to shared to open data.

User experience research commissioned on their previous website showed that multiple audiences were unaware of who the ODI are and how the ODI could support them. The brief was to create an engaging digital platform that was easy to navigate and resonated with a range of audiences - from people interested in data and culture to people keen to learn about open data tools. A simplified information architecture and taxonomy alongside a refreshed brand form the foundation of the new site.
